In what must be the most blatant illustration of a draconian approach to problem solving, the current group of Alabama legislators, led primarily by the efforts of the District 3 incumbent, have consistently denied the citizens of Alabama the right to vote on this topic, and more alarmingly they have further disadvantaged Alabama's youths from securing many of the educational privileges and advantages offered to the students from states to our north, east, and south.

Through the judicious use of these funds, other states have been able to assist teachers, students, and parents in achieving higher academic standards, improving school facilities, while offering scholarships, and other types of tuition assistance. The two latest lottery bills have been left hanging by the legislature with no possibility of Alabamians being able to vote on them in the Fall elections.

A simple bill (excluding the special interests of casinos) needs to be provided for Alabamians to vote on as soon as possible!
