In this past week:

  1. I spent another week refining the volunteer portal.
  2. I finished the signature-based 80s-style adventure book for canvassers.
  3. I formed an advisory board which is a small group – a cadre – of trusted advisors, strategists, and volunteers who are helping me get this off the ground.
  4. I built a fundraising plan to make my personal finances sounds until September.
  5. I am building a fundraising plan for the campaign to become sustainable by September.

Hunting the Wren
#

This week I want to introduce to you a song from a band I have been following for sometime. When my grandfather was in and out of the hospital in 2023, I found Lankum’s albums “False Lankum” to be strangely cathartic and healing. There is a practice in the Isle of Man, repeated within Ireland called “Hunting the Wren” where school children attempt to hunt down a small bird with sticks and stones.

We must stop hunting the vulnerable and we need to start protecting them.
